National Women’s Health Week

May 8, 2012

Girlfriends are priceless. We are there for breakups, makeups, happy hours, brunches, a good laugh, and a good cry. The moments are cherished. The memories last a lifetime. Perhaps I am a little partial, considering I am an exercise physiologist, but I feel the greatest gift you can give someone you love is the gift of health and well-being. May 13-19 is National Women’s Health Week. Share the gift of health with girlfriends by dedicating this week to making efforts to improve your health.

#1 – Make a Long-Overdue Doctor’s Appointment – You wouldn’t miss making a hair appointment when you need it or a schedule a mani/pedi when your polish is starting to chip. When was your last gyne visit, eye exam, dental checkup, or even full physical? Have you visited the dermatologist in the last 12 months?

#2 – Check Your Blood Pressure: May is also High Blood Pressure Education Month. High blood pressure is referred to as the silent killer because it is an indicator of multiple health problems such as heart disease, diabetes, and kidney problems without any symptoms.

#3 – Get FIT and Fabulous & JOIN FIT CHICKS: In honor of National Women’s Health Week, Kb Fitness Solutions, Inc. is extending an amazing special on our fabulous 4-week FIT Chicks program, which next session begins on June 4, 2012. Join by May 19 with a girlfriend for the price of one. This all-female fitness program includes 3-5 full body workouts per week in three different locations to choose from, Chicago, Naperville, or Northbrook is designed for all fitness levels.
