Get Those Chiseled Arms this Summer!
February 29, 2016This Way to the Gun Show
Other than building washboard abs, the arms are another body part that people want to “tighten and tone.” Chiseled arms can totally transform the way you look, am I right? If I see someone with great arms, I assume they are in fantastic shape and workout consistently. Most people assume that never ending bicep curls will do the trick, but that is not true. You need to wake up all of the muscles in the arm (and shoulders!) to really get that “cut” look you are going for.
Like other muscle groups, you want to keep your arm muscles guessing what is coming so that they are not getting used to the same routine. This can be accomplished by performing different moves or by adding a different load to the muscle. The heavier the weight, the less reps you will be able to perform. If the weight is lighter, you can perform more.
Included in today’s post is an arm routine that can be followed. Just keep in mind that you always want to fatigue the muscles in order to see change. If you can continue lifting, the load is not challenging enough. The rep range can be changed depending on the weight you are using.
1. Basic bicep curls with free weights.
2. Triceps extensions.
3. Hammer curls with free weights
SUPERSET with tiny pulses with a lighter weight. (Keeping your elbows bent, pulse weight upward toward your shoulder really burning those biceps).
4. Skull crushers SUPERSET with narrow grip chest press.
5. Front raises SUPERSET with side raises.
6. Single arm arm extension until failure.
These following exercises are my “go to” moves when my arms really need the attention. The weight of the load will depend on each person. What may be very heavy for one person may not be as challenging for another person.
The countdown to spring break is on! Strength training will transform your body in ways that strict, steady cardio cannot. Pick up the weights and let’s get those “guns” we have always wanted!
