About Gena
One of the nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop what ever we are doing and devote our attention to eating”. I believe that eating should always be an enjoyable experience and its my passion to help people find that joy in healthy eating. I have been an athlete all of my life and it was in high school that I first saw and felt the positive impact that food can have on your physical and mental well-being. When I realized that I could make a career out of nutrition, I knew that becoming a registered dietitian was my calling. I studied nutrition and dietetics at Indiana University, where I also swam and played water polo. I then completed my dietetic internship at Loyola University of Chicago and currently work as clinical dietitian managing the Intensive Care Unit of a Chicago hospital. I am passionate about helping individuals build healthy and long-lasting habits that improve quality of life, happiness, and longevity. I am driven by working with my clients and patients to develop holistic wellness plans, which are unique to each individual and empower them to achieve their goals. When I’m not working, you can find me testing out new recipes in my kitchen, running and swimming up and down the lake path, or checking new restaurants around the city!
