Sarah grew up in Florida near the Indian River Lagoon where she studied dance and movement. This and her love of the ocean and water sports propelled her to stumble through her discoveries of yoga and swimming as strengthening, healing, and balancing practices. She began teaching swimming at the Indian River Recreational center as a summer job in exchange for studio space to choreograph dance. In college, she studied dance and anthropology where she began to recognize patterns based in fear as well the ability to explore joy. Her network of teachers and collaborators developed at the Columbia College of Chicago pursued and achieved her RYT 200 hr with Amber Daniel Cook in a one-on-one mentorship. Her journey with yoga has since transformed these fear based patterns into explorations of the body, mind and souls’ abilities. She loves working with and teaching children, and she has for some time. She says they are “jam-packed with life’s most obvious lessons accompanied by pure joy.” She took this skill and deepened her swim training at the Foss Swim School growing her toolset for students from 6 months to 40 years old.
She’s a forever student of physiological and psychological practices. She’s always looking for opportunities to learn and encourage other to pursue their lifestyle choices as a student to their bodies. She looks forward to learning with you and your family about your goals and abilities to reach them!
