Pace Lead for Chicago Endurance Sports
Arthi has been a long distance runner for over 12 years and fell in love with the sport when her college roommate convinced her to sign up for her first half marathon during Freshmen year. Since then, she’s completed over 50 half marathons and 12 full marathons (including Boston, which she ran for her first time in April 2019!). When she first started running marathons, she never thought she’d be able to qualify for Boston. It was a dream that seemed entirely far fetched. However, with a lot of training, a lot of dedication, and a lot of heart, she managed to shave an entire hour off her her first marathon in 2014 to her 12th marathon in 2019. Arthi loves to share her story and inspire other runners wherever they are in their own journeys. She’s been a pacer with Chicago Endurance Sports and has also paced a number of local races in the Chicago area.
In addition to running, Arthi has also been practicing yoga since her early 20s. At first, she turned to yoga for more of the physical benefits of the practice which she found complimented her running and made her stronger. Overtime, however, the mental benefits of the practice seemed to outweigh the physical. She believes yoga has the power to transform lives by allowing individuals to reconnect to themselves and better understand and navigate their internal dialogues. She credits yoga with helping her overcome her eating disorder and finding self-love. She teaches a vinyasa style practice and creates a safe environment for students to learn, play, and grow.
