Marta is a native of Indiana, raised in Florida. Marta’s grandmother was an accomplished blind and deaf pianist. Her grandmother’s great talent and encouragement inspired her to pursue her passion to become a ballroom dance instructor. She returned to Indiana and started training as a ballroom dance instructor at a local dance studio located in Indianapolis.
Marta later went on to teach ballroom dance at a renowned dance studio that pioneered the teaching of social dancing and there she furthered her training. Marta teaches American style smooth and Latin dances including Waltz, Fox Trot, Tango, Rumba, East Coast Swing, Samba, Cha Cha, Merengue, Bolero, Hustle, and Salsa. Marta specializes in teaching social dance, bronze and silver levels of dance using the interrelated system of learning. Marta has choreographed wedding dances and independent theater.
Marta has been described as an energetic, patient and devoted teacher. She enjoys teaching new students and her favorite dance to teach is the East Coast Swing because it is a classic, entertaining, fun, and versatile dance. When Marta is not teaching, she is hiking with her dog, playing tennis and spending time with family.
