Cool Down with a Healthy Treat!

There is nothing better than a good ol’ smoothie in the morning (or any time, really) on a hot summer day.  Smoothies are not only loaded with vitamins and minerals, they taste delicious.  Starting your day on the good foot usually helps you make better choices when it comes to food for the rest of the day.  Listed are some of my top smoothie recipes!  Go grab your blender and let’s make this summer a super healthy one!

Green Smoothie:

1 banana

½ cup frozen berries (can be a single kind of berry or mixed)

½ cup frozen mango

1 cup spinach

Coconut water (enough to get things moving)

Peanut Butter and Banana Protein Smoothie:

1-1  ½ frozen banana

1-2  tbsp all natural peanut butter (or any nut butter of your choice!)

¼- ½ cup oats

1 serving of a good quality protein powder (look for an all natural kind with no added sugar)

Almond Milk (enough to get things moving)

Berry Good Smoothie:

 1 cup of frozen strawberries

½ cup frozen blueberries

½ cup plain greek yogurt

Almond milk (enough to get things moving)
