About Coach Emma

Emma is passionate about all things water, whether that’s helping swimmers build confidence in the pool or studying aquatic ecosystems. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree at Loyola University Chicago in aquatic ecology and has been swimming competitively since she was 5! She holds/previously held certifications in lifeguarding, wilderness first aid, and water safety instruction through American Red Cross.

With over six years of experience as a lifeguard, junior swim coach on her club teams, or swim instructor, Emma has worked with swimmers of all ages and abilities. Safety is always Emma’s top priority in the pool, but she also believes that learning happens best when people are having fun, feeling supported, and celebrating their progress along the way. Her goal is to help every student leave feeling proud of what they’ve accomplished and more confident and capable around the water.

When Emma is not teaching lessons, she’s probably still in or around the water. She loves all things outdoors and active – biking, hiking, paddleboarding, and even teaches skiing in the winter! She is also currently training for an Ironman, but open water races are her favorite!
